NFWF New England Forests and Rivers Program

The New England Forests and Rivers Fund is dedicated to restoring and sustaining healthy forests and rivers that provide habitat for diverse native bird and freshwater fish populations in the six New England states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut. This program annually awards competitive grants ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 each. 2017 deadline was May. 2018 TBA

Nonprofit Risk Management Center Sample Conflict of Interest Policy

Sample conflict of interest policies that would be acceptable to the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation for use by applicants for an Ecosystem Restoration Program grant who intend to subcontract with a second party. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient capacity to document their compliance with the policy so as to avoid any conflict of interest or appearance of a conflict.

Northeast Kingdom Fund

The Northeast Kingdom Fund is interested in supporting opportunities in which a modest grant can leverage a new idea or other grant dollars, or make possible a project or idea that will benefit the people and communities in the Northeast Kingdom - Orleans, Essex, Caledonia counties. Mini Grants of $500 - $1000 and Sustaining grants for $1000 to $5,000 for local grassroots groups. Due date: September 6, 2017.

NRCS National Water Quality Initiative

Through the National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is offering financial and technical assistance to farmers and forest landowners interested in improving water quality and aquatic habitats in The Rock River watershed. NRCS will help producers implement conservation and management practices through a systems approach to control and trap nutrient and manure runoff. Qualified producers will receive assistance for installing conservation practices such as cover crops, filter strips and grassed waterways.

NRCS Regional Conservation Partnership Program

The Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) promotes coordination between NRCS and its partners to deliver conservation assistance to producers and landowners. NRCS provides assistance to producers through partnership agreements and through program contracts or easement agreements. RCPP combines the authorities of four former conservation programs – the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Program, the Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative and the Great Lakes Basin Program. Assistance is delivered in accordance with the rules of EQIP, CSP, ACEP and HFRP; and in certain areas the Watershed Operations and Flood Prevention Program.
